Regarding properties, chrysotile fibres are fire proof, have a higher tensile strength than steel, are flexible, absorbent, compatible with cements, resins, etc…. Very useful products like chryso-cement (water pipes, sewage pipes, sheets for roofing and siding tiles, shingles, posts etc.) brake pads, fire proof textiles, tars, plastic cements, asphalt coverings, etc… can be fabricated and safely used throughout the world.
The entire road network of Quebec and the other Canadian Provinces (highways and secondary roads), municipal streets, parking lots, etc… should be paved with chrysotile fibre based asphalt (3% less expensive than polymer based asphalt). With the doubling of the life of the road surface by the use of this product, Governments would save millions of dollars each year while using our natural resources, economizing energy and reducing greenhouse gases.
The use of chrysotile based plastic cement to repair tar and asphalt based roof coverings is a very efficient and economic way to seal them.
Fireproof chrysotile papers for construction, archiving and covering electric wires for aeronautics are also to be promoted and present a panoply of possibilities.
