Training and information

We frequently observe gaps in the knowledge and know how of certain architects, engineers and contractors regarding the use of chrysotile based products in buildings and infrastructure. Regarding the use of chrysotile based products in buildings and infrastructure, the Movement participated in the "Événements Bâtiment " (Building expositions) held at Montreal, Quebec and other regions in 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005.

These highly specialized expositions were organized by Contech and sponsored by "la Société d'habitation du Québec", "L'Agence de l'efficacité énergétique du Québec", Québec-Hydro, and the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation.

In fact, architects, engineers, designers, contractors, technologists and building managers are invited to meet with manufacturers and service providers in the fields of industrial, commercial, institutions and residential buildings. These include businesses specializing in the building shell, in finishing, in restoration, in maintenance, in building management, and in mechanical and electrical work. The ProChrysotile Movement holds an information kiosk which allows them to familiarize the targeted public and the exhibitors with the various applications for and the properties of chrysotile.

The Movement has requested the governments of Canada and Quebec to distribute technical informations kits about chryso-cement and other non-friable and safe chrysotile products to Architectural and Consulting Engineering firms.

In addition, regional and national information conferences should be held in Quebec and elsewhere in Canada for Civil and Municipal Engineers, Architects, Contractors etc… about chryso-cement and other chrysotile based products.

The Movement plans to hold chrysotile information kiosks at commercial fairs and scientific conferences to rehabilitate the use of non-friable chrysotile based products.
