
The use and handling of chrysotile and products containing it are governed by a multitude of regulations in Quebec as well as elsewhere in Canada, in the United States and overseas.
In particular these regulations impose obligations on employers concerning exposure to airborne asbestos fibre dust in the workplace.
The prohibition of certain friable products and certain activities like the spaying of asbestos targets the prevention of respiratory illnesses related to the inhalation of asbestos microfibres.
